The North Coast Harbor Boating & Fishing Fest is a free annual event that gives children and families the opportunity to get out on the water.
In 2008, nearly 1,400 people were able to cruise the lake on donated boats and 800 more children got to fish off the charter boat Holiday.
There was no charge for admission or for boat rides. Funding was provided through grants from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft, National Water Safety Congress, Cleveland Foundation, and donations from the Greater Cleveland Safety Council, Woods and Waters Club, Greater Cleveland Boating Association, and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District.

Since 1998, the LEMTA Educational Foundation has given away more than $83,000 in scholarships to local students interested in the marine industry. A big source of income has been the annual golf outing, which we have revamped this year in order to appeal to more members.
The golf scramble will be held at the new Arthur Hills course at the Catawba Island Club, a location that also allows us to stage a fishing tournament. All members are encouraged to participate, whether it be by playing golf, fishing for a team, providing a boat, or through sponsorship.
